Managing Webinars
Webinars are video presentations that you host on Leadvisor Global to share your expertise with the community. This guide explains how to create webinar listings, upload recordings, and manage your webinars.
Understanding Webinars
A webinar is a video presentation on a professional topic. Like articles, webinars are free content that helps establish your reputation and attract potential clients. Webinars you publish appear in the Insights section of the platform and on your consultant profile.
You can use webinars for two purposes: to announce upcoming live events and provide registration information, or to share recorded presentations that viewers can watch on demand.
Accessing Webinar Management
Go to your Consultant Portal and click the Insights tab, then select Webinars. This displays all your webinars organized by status.
Creating a New Webinar
Required Information
Every webinar requires the following information.
| Field | Description | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Clear, descriptive name for your webinar | 200 characters |
| Description | Overview of what the webinar covers | 4,000 characters |
| Scheduled Date | When the webinar takes place or took place | Date and time |
The title should clearly communicate what the webinar covers. Good examples include specific titles like "Tax Planning Strategies for Cross-Border Transactions" or "2025 Regulatory Updates: What Boards Need to Know" rather than generic titles like "Tax Webinar" or "Compliance Update".
The description helps potential viewers decide whether to watch or register. Explain what topics you cover, what insights viewers will gain, and who should attend.
Registration URL
For upcoming live webinars hosted on external platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams, provide the registration URL. Viewers click through to register on your chosen platform. You manage registration and conduct the live session externally, then can upload the recording to Leadvisor Global afterward.
Tags and Metadata
Categorize your webinar to help viewers find it.
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Solutions | Business solution areas the webinar addresses |
| Service Categories | Professional categories related to the content |
| Countries | Regions the webinar is relevant to |
Webinar Media
Preview Image
Upload a preview image that represents your webinar. This appears in listings and on the webinar detail page. Use a professional image that gives viewers a sense of the topic. You might include the webinar title or key visual elements.
Recommended image size is at least 1280x720 pixels. Use PNG or JPG format with maximum file size of 5MB.
Webinar Video
For recorded webinars, upload the video file so viewers can watch on demand.
Common video formats like MP4 and MOV are supported. Larger files take longer to upload and process.
You can create a webinar listing before the live event with just the registration URL, then add the recording after the event concludes.
Upcoming vs. Recorded Webinars
Upcoming Live Webinars
For webinars that have not yet occurred, set the scheduled date in the future and provide the registration URL. Publish the webinar so potential attendees can see it and register. Conduct the live session on your chosen platform at the scheduled time. After the event, upload the recording so others can watch.
Recorded Webinars
For past webinars or pre-recorded presentations, set the scheduled date to when the content was or should be available. Upload the video recording. Publish to make it available for on-demand viewing.
Publishing Your Webinar
After completing the form and adding your preview image (and optionally a recording), click Submit for Review. The platform team reviews your submission.
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Draft | Saved but not submitted, visible only to you |
| Pending | Submitted for platform review |
| Published | Approved and visible to all platform users |
| Unpublished | Removed from public view but retained in your account |
Once approved, your webinar is published. For upcoming events, viewers can see the registration information. For recorded webinars, viewers can watch immediately.
Managing Published Webinars
You can update published webinars to modify the description, add a recording after a live event, or update other details. Navigate to the webinar in your Insights tab and click to edit.
To replace a video, remove the existing recording and upload the new version.
To temporarily remove a webinar from public view, click Unpublish. The webinar remains in your account and can be republished when ready.
Creating Effective Webinars
Quality webinars that provide genuine value attract more viewers and build your reputation.
Content Planning
Structure your presentation with a clear introduction, organized main sections, and a summary or conclusion. Plan for typical webinar lengths of 30-60 minutes. Focus on delivering actionable insights rather than surface-level overviews.
Presentation Quality
Use professional slides or visual aids. Ensure clear audio quality, as this significantly impacts the viewing experience. Maintain good lighting and a clean background if appearing on camera. Speak clearly and at a moderate pace.
Technical Preparation
Test your equipment and setup before live sessions. Have a backup plan for technical issues. Use a reliable hosting platform for live events. Ensure stable internet connection.
Engaging Delivery
Speak directly to your audience. Use examples and case studies to illustrate points. Keep slides visually clean and focused. Maintain energy and engagement throughout.
