Managing Courses
Courses are video-based educational content that you create for clients on Leadvisor Global. This guide explains how to build courses, upload videos, and manage your educational offerings.
Understanding Courses
A course is a structured learning experience delivered through video lessons. Clients enroll in courses to develop professional skills and knowledge from your expertise. Courses you publish appear on your consultant profile and in the marketplace where clients search for professional development content.
Courses provide a scalable way to share your expertise. Once created, a course can be purchased by many clients without requiring your direct involvement for each enrollment.
Accessing Course Management
Go to your Consultant Portal and click the Courses tab. This displays all your courses organized by status. You can see which courses are drafts, pending review, published, or unpublished.
Creating a New Course
Required Information
Every course requires the following information.
| Field | Description | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Clear, descriptive name for your course | 200 characters |
| Description | Overview of what learners will gain from the course | 8,000 characters |
| Price | Cost to enroll in the course in USD | Up to $999,999 |
The title should clearly communicate what the course teaches. Good examples include specific titles like "Mastering International Tax Planning" or "Corporate Governance Fundamentals for Board Members" rather than generic titles like "Tax Course" or "Governance Training".
The description helps potential students decide whether to enroll. Explain what learners will be able to do after completing the course, who the course is designed for, any prerequisites, and how the course is structured.
Tags and Metadata
Categorize your course to help clients find it.
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Solutions | Business solution areas the course covers |
| Service Categories | Professional categories related to the course content |
| Countries | Regions the course is relevant to |
| Languages | Language of instruction |
Accurate tagging improves your course's visibility in search results. Clients often filter by topic or region when searching for professional development.
Course Media
Preview Image
Upload a preview image that represents your course. This image appears in search results and on the course detail page. Use a professional, relevant image that gives potential students a sense of what the course covers.
Recommended image size is at least 1280x720 pixels. Use PNG or JPG format with maximum file size of 5MB.
Preview Video
You can optionally add a preview video that potential students can watch before enrolling. This helps them understand your teaching style and assess whether the course is right for them.
Keep preview videos brief, typically 1-3 minutes. Introduce yourself, explain what the course covers, and highlight key learning outcomes. The preview should give a taste of the full course content.
Uploading Course Videos
After saving your course as a draft, you can upload the video lessons that make up the course content.
Maximum video size is 5GB per video. Common video formats like MP4 and MOV are supported. MP4 is recommended for best compatibility.
Arrange videos in the order students should watch them. Clear, sequential organization helps students progress through the material logically.
Video Details
For each video, provide a clear title that indicates what the lesson covers. The description explains what students will learn in that specific lesson. The preview image serves as a thumbnail that students see in the course curriculum.
Video Order
Arrange your videos in the sequence students should follow. You can reorder videos by dragging and dropping or using the ordering controls. Logical organization improves the learning experience.
Managing Videos
You can edit video titles and descriptions at any time. To replace a video, delete the existing one and upload the new version. You can add new videos to published courses to expand the curriculum.
Publishing Your Course
After completing the form and uploading your video lessons, click Submit for Review. The platform team reviews your submission to ensure it meets quality standards.
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Draft | Saved but not submitted, visible only to you |
| Pending | Submitted for platform review |
| Published | Approved and visible to clients in the marketplace |
| Unpublished | Removed from public view but retained in your account |
Once approved, your course is published and visible to clients. They can view the course description, see the curriculum of videos, and enroll to start learning.
Managing Published Courses
You can update published courses to modify the description, price, or videos. Navigate to the course in your Courses tab and click to edit.
Adding new videos to a published course gives existing enrolled students access to the new content. This lets you expand courses over time or add updated material.
To temporarily remove a course from new enrollments, click Unpublish. Students who already enrolled retain access to the course content. The course remains in your account and can be republished when ready.
Custom Pricing for Courses
You can offer custom pricing to specific clients through the Conversations feature. After discussing a client's needs, create a custom price offer in the conversation. The client can then enroll at the custom price.
For more information on creating custom price offers, see Conversations.
Course Statistics
Track your course performance from the Courses tab and Dashboard. View the count of your published courses, the number of enrollments, and the revenue generated.
Creating Quality Video Content
Effective course videos require attention to production quality and instructional design.
Production Quality
Record in a quiet environment with good lighting. Use a quality microphone for clear audio, as poor audio is more distracting than imperfect video. Frame yourself or your screen clearly. Keep a consistent setup across all videos in a course for a professional appearance.
Content Structure
Organize each lesson to focus on one concept or skill. Begin with what students will learn, deliver the core content, then summarize key takeaways. Keep individual videos focused rather than covering too much in one lesson.
Video Length
Individual lessons typically range from 5-20 minutes. Shorter videos are easier for students to complete in available time. Break longer topics into multiple videos rather than creating very long single videos.
Engagement
Speak clearly and at a moderate pace. Use slides, screen recordings, or other visual aids to reinforce your points. Include practical examples that students can apply.
